  I personally just watched a mother who lost her son not 24 hours ago be brushed off when asking a question about his personal effects. She was told to call back in 10 minutes by the person on the phone, which was after closing time. Assuming they would be decent enough to stay long enough to answer the question, she called the number given in ten minutes. Lo and behold nobody was there. I understand that they are busy and that they deal with hundreds of deaths, but they aren't just handling bodies or remains. These are people who are deeply loved and their families are destroyed by their absence. As a person who understands the need for a psychological separation from patients, I assure you I understand the need for being stoic. Rudeness and showing irritation to a heartbroken mother whose child you just reduced to an inconvenience for you is unacceptable to say the least. She's not gotten to say goodbye, to hold him, to have any contact with her boy. You did. So you need to exercise some respect and show these people the care you would want your grieving families to have. I hope you treat the deceased with more dignity than you treat the living. And I hope you feel publicly disgraced enough to never treat another person in such a calloused manner. Especially a devastated mother. Shame on you.
